Careers in Science This website features information on careers in science. It also explains how undertaking subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, earth science and mathematics in Years 11 and 12 help broaden the choices you can make for university subjects and careers.
May 2009 Insights into Engineering Professionals (Australia) Report recently released by Manpower.
The report indicates that engineers continue to be one of the occupations experiencing extreme talent shortages in Australia. It has some interesting data that that would inform someone thinking of a career in engineering.
Career Adviser's Resource Database This is database which provides a comprehensive listing of the various
industry-specific careers resources that are available. The resources range from websites and brochures to
DVDs and curriculum material.
This database has been developed through a collaboration between Alyssa Whelan, RICA for the Central
Victorian and Goulburn Valley region and Bill Coppinger from the Central Ranges LLEN. The database will be
updated regularly and feedback from users, to make sure there is no out-of-date resources listed, is welcome.
The Web - Careers Information Guide This is a listing of websites from across Australia that will be useful to
teachers, students and parents. Developed under Career Advice Australia funding.
Careers in Health and Community Services Website A well thought out website that has been developed to
share information about the Health and Cmmunity Service sector but also provides information of a generic
nature that will be useful to teachers and students. Of particular note is the Develop a Personal Profile tool,
and the innovative presentation of Employability skills in the Workplace Learning section. This website was
developed by Kangan Batman TAFE and supported by the Department of Human Services.
Careersconnected This website is provided by the Australian Industry Group AiG and provides information and
resources that are relevant to industry, schools and parents.
